About the Library

Marion Public Library is a member of the Outagamie Waupaca Library System (OWLS). OWLS is also affiliated with the Nicolet Federated Library System (which includes Shawano County). A library card issued in Marion is good in Appleton, Clintonville, Shawano, Tigerton and as far away as Door County. There are over a million and a half books, audio books, videos, DVD's, CD's and periodicals in the OWLSnet system. Patrons from the Marion area have access to all of these through InfoSoup, our online catalog.

Online Computer Catalog
InfoSoup provides access to the library's collection, the collections of the public libraries in the Outagamie Waupaca Library System and many in the Nicolet Federated Library System. The catalog is available in the library, via the World Wide Web at http://www.infosoup.org or from the library's Web page.

Interlibrary Loan
If the material you are searching for is not located in the OWLSnet system we may be able to obtain it from another library. Please ask for assistance at the service desk. There is usually not a charge for this service.

Internet Access
The library provides a public use computer for Internet access. There is a time limit of a half an hour. Please see our Internet Usage Policy.

Library Cards
Any resident of Wisconsin may apply for a library card, free of charge. Proof of residence is required for adults when the card application is completed. Children under the age of sixteen must have a parent's or guardian's signature on their application. There is no minimum age requirement to obtain a library card. A picture ID is required to check out materials if a card is forgotten. Library cards are valid for three years. There is a $3.00 replacement fee for lost cards.

The librarians provide help to patrons with reference questions and information needs. Contact us for assistance.

Word Processing
The library provides computers for word processing using MSWord. Copies can be made for .15$

Marion Area Family Resource Center
The Marion Area Family Resource Center is a place for you and your family to find a variety of information on parenting, life skills, family issues, aging topics, financial issues, addiction and much more. The resource center has a wide variety of books, videos and pamphlets on these and other subjects. On the 1rst and 3rd Tuesday of every month, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. parents and young children can come to the center for Drop-in Playtime. For more information please call (715)754-2491 or email .

Home Schooling
If you and your family home school, we would like the opportunity to introduce you to the library and show you the resources that we both have and can get in to assist you. Please contact for an introduction program tailored to your children's age and learning level.

Waupaca County Energy Outreach
Waupaca County Energy Outreach will be at the library for those who need help with their electric and gas bills. They will be in the lower level of the library on the dates below from 10-3. Please call (715)258-6820 to make an appointment.
